LANCE will soon switch the MAIAC Collection 6 (C6) products, being distributed from nrt3, to their Collection 6.1 (C61) equivalents. This switch is tentatively scheduled to take place during the week of May 1. We will send out another note to this effect once the switch has been made. This is part of our formal decommissioning of all MODIS C6 products. All LANCE users, who use C6 MAIAC products routinely from nrt3, are advised to start testing the C61 MAIAC products from MODAPS operational processing that are made available through LP-DAAC or LAADS DAAC. The C61 MAIAC products have improvements over C6 and are updated for better retrievals for Aerosol and water leaving reflectance over the coastal areas.
