Description

Updated 2021-09-14 -- Two printed wire assemblies (PWA) on the Terra satellite stopped working, resulting in lost data from the Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) and the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on June 28th and June 29th, 2021. Radiation from the Sun and deep space likely caused an overcurrent issue that stopped the printed wire assemblies from working. Read more about the issue and what the science teams might plan to do:

Terra MODIS shows partial to full science data loss on 2021.180 and 2021.181 for NRT and C6/C61 forward production, the complete impacted range for MODIS: 180/13:06:23 - 181/00:07:41. MODAPS is currently working to fill in the data to the best possible extent

Latest information about data loss and current Terra intrument situation can be found on LDOPE QA page under "UPDATE 07.06.21".
