Update: 2020-11-03 -- MODAPS has started to re-processing this Aqua FMU outage period (8/16 - 9/2), based on limited L0 coverage received from the various Direct Broadcast (DB) stations, via EDOS. The data from the DB stations are expected to cover between 25-30% of the globe each day. For the current status of this re-processing refer to "Detailed Description" link below.Update: 2020-09-03T11:15:00Z -- On September 2, 2020, the Aqua Flight Operation Team (FOT) was successful in recovering the Formatter/Recorder and as of DOY 2020-246/20:12:00 UTC resumed nominal operations. NRT L0 Aqua MYD00S starts at 2020-09-02 19:53z and nrt3 and nrt4 systems are processing Aqua and combined data again. Aqua MODIS science data processing at MODAPS will start soon. On day 229 (Aug 16, 2020) at 09:26:40 UTC, Aqua experienced an anomaly with the Formatter-Multiplexer Unit (FMU). The Aqua Flight Operations Team (FOT) is continuing to investigate this anomaly and an FMU reset activity is currently been planned. We await hearing back from FOT about the exact timing/details of this activity. As a result of this anomaly, there is an anticipated impact on the MODIS science data. The MODIS instrument continues to operate nominally, and the health/telemetry is being monitored by the Instrument Operations Team.
