2016-10-04T11:44:00Z The MODIS Atmosphere Science Team first released Collection 6 science products in early 2014. Since that time, both Collection 6 and Collection 5.1 data products spanning Terra and Aqua missions have been produced and made available to researchers. Data product users are advised that a number of MODIS instrument calibration issues and trends continue to be investigated by the MODIS Characterization Support Team (http://mcst.gsfc.nasa.gov) as well as the science algorithm teams (http://modis-atmos.gsfc.nasa.gov/validation.html). Calibration issues and downstream product anomalies are being addressed. Reprocessing of recent Terra/MODIS data products is to be anticipated. As Collection 6 serves to better model instrument calibration issues and trends, Collection 5 and 5.1 atmospheric products are being discontinued effective 06 October 2016.
