Updated 2024-07-18T18:20:00Z -- We are pleased to announce that the SNPP mission GPS issue which started on July 09, 2024, is resolved and the Land SIPS is set to resume SNPP VIIRS forward processing from 2024-07-16 17:42:00z onwards. Please note that all SNPP VIIRS data between 2024-07-09 21:42 and 2024-07-16T17:42 will not be processed and will be hidden due to unrecoverable geolocation errors and invalid timestamps in packets. ----------------- Updated 2024-07-16T18:15:00Z -- Please note that the SNPP anomaly that affects all VIIRS products still persists, and recovery efforts will not occur until sometime next week. We will send an update once the issue is resolved. ----------------- Similar to the May 25, 2024, event, the SNPP mission experienced another Global Positioning System (GPS) anomaly on July 09, 2024, at 2146Z. We have suspended the forward processing for all SNPP VIIRS collections (C1 and C2) until we receive further directions from our Geolocation group and this issue is resolved.
