Description	The LAADS DAAC is pleased to publicly release two MODIS-VIIRS Cloud Mask (MVCM) products. Based on the original MODIS (MOD35) Cloud Mask algorithm, the MVCM suite represents a continuity algorithm that is central to both MODIS data (from Terra and Aqua missions) and Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) data (from the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (SNPP) and Joint Polar Satellite System missions). Please bear in mind that each of these two products are based on spectral bands that are common to both instruments. They include the following: CLDMSK_L2_VIIRS_SNPP -- VIIRS/SNPP Cloud Mask and Spectral Test Results 6-Min L2 Swath 750m CLDMSK_L2_MODIS_Aqua -- MODIS/Aqua Cloud Mask and Spectral Test Results 5-Min L2 Swath 1km Currently, the SNPP-VIIRS Cloud Mask is available from March 1, 2012; the Aqua-MODIS Cloud Mask is available for 2018– 2019, and the backlog should become available over the next few weeks.
