Description 2015-11-11T19:44:00Z
Aqua 2015-11-11 at 09:20 and 14:55-15:55z has been reprocessed. An investigation of a PGE01 error identified these MYD00F (5 minute L0) granules as being much smaller than normal. These were reprocessed with later and more complete MYD00S (orbital L0) granules from EDOS, producing normal sized MYD00F granules. However PGE02 at 15:25 and 15:45 and downstream granules at same time did not get reprocessed correctly and are now missing; no correction is planned.

While Aqua latency may be better than the past few days, we are now getting a greater than usual number of MYD00S granules containing data gaps. Incomplete MYD00S granules cause incomplete downstream granules to get produced from them. A more complete MYD00S granule is typically sent later by EDOS, but is too late to use unless we manually reprocess as above. We only identify these gaps when they cause errors (which does not include incomplete downstream granules), and the decision to reprocess is usually based on how soon the issue is detected, how big the gap is, and the availability of the operator's time.
